Keystone Pipeline System
2008 – 2009 Construction = 2,148 miles, 30 - inch pipe Total Capacity 590,000 bbl/day 2010 is Year 3 of a three-year construction schedule Keystone XL 1,980 miles, 36-inch pipeline 500,000 bbl/day Regulatory review, environmental studies, routing, public consultation Capital Value Keystone System: ~$12 billion Keystone XL is designed to deliver an initial capacity of 700,000 bpd, expandable to 900,000 bpd. Keystone XL will be operated as part of integrated Keystone Pipeline System Maximum nominal capacity of the combined Keystone System is 1.5 million bpd The need for this pipeline is demonstrated by long-term contract commitments. US refiners and crude oil marketers have executed binding contracts for 910,000 bpd for an average term of 18 years. Keystone XL has an estimated capital cost of about $7 billion. With the $5 billion Keystone Pipeline, the system overall will have a capital value of about $12 billion. In terms of timing: We will place the Keystone line in service this year and begin deliveries to Wood River and Patoka. In 2010, we will complete the Keystone Cushing line and begin deliveries to Cushing, Oklahoma. Pending regulatory approvals, Keystone XL construction will occur in 2011 and 2012.
