Wireless Body Area Network and Architecture Research Problem & Motivation Proposed Framework Packet Dissemination Model Future Work and Conclusion
3
What is SDN? Separate Data plane and Control Plane.
More administrative control. Number of network devices, services, topology, traffic paths and packet handling policies. Network Management Functionalities. Provisioning, Operating, Monitoring, Optimizing and managing faults. Makes the network more flexible, dynamic and cost- efficient while greatly simplifying operational complexity.
4
WHY SDN? Difficult to perform real world experiments on large scale production networks. Networks have remained same for many years. Research stagnation. Rate of innovation in network is slower as protocols are defined. Many complex functions are baked into infrastructure. (Millions lines of code) Cannot dynamically change according to network condition.

Protocols and Standards
ForCes OpenFlow
7
Wireless Body Area Network
Collection of multiple sensors attached to or in the body which are used to receive different physiological parameters. For example: Body Temperature, Blood Sugar, Heart Rate, Pulse Rate, Respiratory Measurement and even calorie burned after exercise etc.
8
WBAN Architecture
9
Research Problem WBAN is Heterogeneous in Nature. Multiple Vendors
Complex to manage Application based architecture of WBAN is static in nature. Mobility Constraints.
10
Research Problem Traffic Priority
No Administrative Control on the traffic flow. Access of emergency data. Simultaneous access of emergency data. Network Reconfiguration. Inefficient Resource Utilization. Authentication and Security. Energy Inefficiency.
11
Motivation Getting Rid of Complex Management Independence of Vendor
Data Prioritization Patient Monitoring Authentication and Security Mobility and Accuracy of Location Tracking Improvement in Energy Efficiency

Proposed Framework
14
Packet Dissemination Model
15
Future work and Conclusion
Validate the feasibility of the proposed framework in terms of Physiological requirements of different WBAN applications. Optimum number of Controllers and Switches for SDWBAN. Application Classification Algorithm Design. Test-bed Implementations
