The 1000 year reigns Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Revelation 20:1

The 1000 year reigns He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, Revelation 20:2a

The 1000 year reigns a. Dragon (an animal of power)
b. Serpent (shows cunning and deception) c. Devil (false accuser, slanderer) d. Satan (an adversary, an opponent)

The 1000 year reigns …and bound him for a thousand years;

The 1000 year reigns and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. Revelation 20:3

The 1000 year reigns And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years Revelation 20:4

The 1000 year reigns "I beheld the saints seated upon thrones, ruling over the flesh, the world, and the devil; yes, I beheld the victorious lives of those who had been beheaded and also those who suffered because they refused to worship the beast; as a matter of fact all saints lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

The 1000 year reigns But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Revelation 20:5

The 1000 year reigns a) The first death is the spiritual death when our sins separate us from God. Genesis 2:17, "in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die." Ephesians 2:1, "who were dead in trespasses and sins."

The 1000 year reigns b). The first resurrection is being raised with Christ to begin the Christian life. "Resurrection" means rising again from the dead to live. Ephesians 2:5,6, "and has raised us up." Colossians 2:12,13, "risen with him."

The 1000 year reigns c). The next verse shows that because of the first resurrection the 2nd death has no power (v.6).

The 1000 year reigns Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation 20:6

The 1000 year reigns 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. Revelation 20:7-8

The 1000 year reigns 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. Revelation 20:9

The 1000 year reigns The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:10

The Judgment Scene Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. Revelation 20:11 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea Revelation 21:1

The Judgment Scene And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Revelation 20:12

The Judgment Scene He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. John 12:48

The Judgment Scene The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Revelation 20:13

The Judgment Scene 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14-15

Things NOT found in Revelation 20
1. The rapture. – A supposed period of seven years after the 2nd coming of Christ. 2. The second coming of Christ. Premillennialism has two, one at the rapture, and another after the second coming and the rapture. 3. A reign of Christ on earth. 4. A bodily resurrection of the saints.

5. Christ on earth. 6. The conversion of Israel. 7. A literal throne (of David) in Jerusalem. 8. Jerusalem or Palestine. 9. A thousand years of earthly peace.

What to expect at the end of times.
God’s word is clear about the end of time (Rev 20:11-15). 2. The judgment scene isn’t complicated but it is final.

Conclusion 1. Revelation is a book of encouragement. We still find encouragement as the truth is more comforting than the faulty beliefs of man. 2. Since we know the truth, we can prepare accordingly.
