18 Aircraft Procedures Engine Start Autopilot Check Lineup Check
Takeoff and Climb Out Engine Lean Procedures Switching Fuel Tanks

19 Aircraft Procedures Engine Start
Mixture – FULL LEAN Prop – FORWARD Throttle – FULL OPEN THEN CLOSED THEN ¼” OPEN Battery Master – ON Engine Screen MFD – SELECT Fuel Pump – ON Mixture – RICH Fuel Flow – VERIFY 5-6 GPH for 5 SECONDS Mixture - LEAN Fuel Pump – OFF Starter – ENGAGE One hand on starter, other hand on mixture Move mixture to full rich once engine “catches” Throttle – 1000 RPM Oil Pressure – GREEN GPH—Gallons Per Hour RPM—Revolutions Per Minute MFD—Multifunction Display

20 Aircraft Procedures Autopilot Check Select HDG Center HDG Bug
Select AP Move HDG Bug Left or Right Verify control stick moves and has positive pressure Test temporary disengage – black button Test AP disengage – red button HDG—heading AP—autopilot

21 Aircraft Procedures Lineup Check Lights – ON AS REQUIRED
Flaps – SET FOR TAKEOFF MFD Engine Screen – SELECTED Prop – FULL FORWARD Mixture – FULL RICH

22 Aircraft Procedures Takeoff and Climb Out
Full power within 5 seconds of application of power Callouts – “AIRSPEED ALIVE”; “TACH GREEN” 59 KIAS – ROTATE 75 KIAS – ESTABLISH 400 ft AGL – STAGE 1 CHECKS FLAPS – RETRACT MFD Moving Map Screen – SELECT 85 KIAS – ESTABLISH FUEL PUMP - Off PROP – REDUCE TO 2400 RPM TACH—tachometer KIAS—knots indicated airspeed AGL—above ground level (i.e., above field elevation) MFD—multifunction display PROP—propeller RPM—revolutions per minute

23 Aircraft Procedures Engine Lean Procedures Switching Fuel Tanks
Above 3000’ AGL for sustained period of time Engine Soft Key – Select Mixture – Lean to 9-10 GPH Below 3000’ AGL for sustained period of time Switching Fuel Tanks Fuel Pump – On Fuel Selector – Switch opposite tank and wait 5 seconds Fuel Pump - Off

24 Emergency Procedures Emergency Engine Out Off Field Landing
Door Ajar Warning Indications Alternator Warning Light Electrical Failure In Flight

25 Emergency Procedures Emergency Engine Out Wind Milling Engine
Airspeed - 80 KIAS Fuel – Fullest Tank Ignition – Ensure Both is Selected Mixture – Full Fuel Pump – On Alternate Air – On If No Engine Restart Set mixture to full lean, then slowly enrichen mixture until engine start If no restart, configure aircraft for best glide configuration Stationary propeller glide ratio is 10:3 Wind milling engine start not possible below 70 KIAS Propeller will no longer wind mill below 65 KIAS

26 Emergency Procedures Off Field Landing Airspeed – 75 KIAS ATC – Notify
Fuel Tank Selector – Off Flaps – Landing Safety Harness – Tighten Ignition – Off Master and Electrical - Off Touchdown - Slowest Possible Airspeed

27 Emergency Procedures Door Ajar Warning Indication
Airspeed – Reduce Immediately Canopy and Rear Door – Check If Open – Remain below 140 KIAS and Land At Next Suitable Airfield Do not try to lock the rear door in flight. The safety latch may disengage, and the door opens. Usually this results in a separation of the door from the airplane.

28 Emergency Procedures Alternator Warning Light On Ground In Air
Run engine to 1200 RPM, reduce electrical load and check the alternator. If warning light is still illuminated, terminate flight operations In Air Circuit Breakers – Check Electrical Equipment – Turn unnecessary equipment off Voltmeter – Check Regularly If unable to land within 30 minutes Essential Buss – On (30 minutes additional power) If unable to land within this time Emergency Switch – On (1.5 hours additional power)
