Behavioral Warning – Head Coach/Bench Personnel

New Rules Review There is only one (1) behavioral warning allowed per game for any misconduct in Rule a,b,d,e,f; ; or Situation A – Trainer on bench receives warning for misconduct in 2nd quarter This is the one warning as head coach is responsible for bench personnel. Situation B – During pre-game or intermission warm-ups, A8 dunks. Official rules a technical foul. This is not considered a warning for the game. Head coach is assessed an indirect technical and must sit.

New Rules Review Summary and Conclusions The rules committee provided a tool to improve coach and bench decorum without having to immediately assess a technical foul…Let’s use it! A warning is not required prior to calling a technical foul. If behavior warrants a technical foul, assess it. A warning is recorded in the scorebook by the scorer and reported to the Head Coach. Notify your partner(s).

New Warning Mechanics If ball is live and clock is running, sound whistle as soon as possible, provided opposing team is not moving ball with scoring opportunity, and do the following: - Notify partner to your decision and discuss where/how to resume play. - Notify scorer and instruct scorer to record in scorebook. - Notify head coach. - Resume play at appropriate throw-in spot.

New Warning Mechanics If ball is dead and clock is not running, sound whistle and do the following: - Notify partner to your decision and discuss where/how to resume play. - Notify scorer and instruct scorer to record in scorebook. - Notify head coach. - Resume play at appropriate throw-in spot.
