Trail is closing “down and around”! Great, but need to see this done consistently.
Hearing less double whistles. Great indicator we are officiating in our PCA.
Hand checking being called more and accepted by coaches. Work on body bumps.

8. Kudo Reminders Principle of verticality being applied consistently.
Increase in pushing fouls in post and player control fouls on dribbler are being ruled.
Answering questions from coaches rather than lecturing them.

9. REMINDERS
End of quarters – horn YES, whistle NO – Don’t be surprised. Be prepared to rule no try or successful try. Trail is primary!
Don’t leave PCA too quickly after foul ruling, especially during crash. Communicate appropriate info, allow players to separate and partner relieve you.
Helping partner with irate coach.
End of game situation, losing team has no time outs.

10. Reminders Player/Team control fouls –
- dribbler vs player crash without ball
- flopping vs minimal contact – do we have whistle?
- dribbler extending arm
- use proper signals and mechanics

11. Disqualified Player – mechanics
Ruling ref informed by scorer.
Non-ruling ref notifies coach and player.
Instruct timer to start 15 second replacement interval.
Ref positions similar to 30 second time-out.
Allow sub(s) and resume play after 15 second horn sounds.
If ejection, due to flagrant/2 technicals, notify scorer and coach, allow player to remain in bench area, call Commissioner Lynch ASAP and then complete/send draft ejection report. Don’t forget player name/#!

12. Half Time Protocol
1. Assemble with partner opposite scorer's table after horn sounds to end 2nd period and there is no related activity.
2. After both teams and coaches are moving to locker room, move to scorer's table
3. Check if score is same in both scorebooks and same as scoreboard, reverse AP arrow and instruct timer to begin 9 min half-time period.

13. Half Time Protocol
4. Refs must be back on playing court with 3 min remaining on clock. If one or both teams are not there, ref must alert someone, preferably the respective scorer, to go get team(s). If both teams are playing at neutral site, this time may need to be modified depending on distance to locker rooms.
5. When 9 min half time horn sounds, teams then have 1 min to begin 3rd qtr. This includes warning horn at 15 sec and final horn at 60 sec, thus the full 10 min half time is allowed. If both teams are there, begin 2nd half and follow Rule – Resumption of Play Procedure.

14. Half Time Protocol
6. If one team has not returned to playing court, instruct timer to time 60 seconds. If team still has not returned, assess technical foul – Rule 4-38 and a.

15. Pass-Crash Play
Follow Primary Coverage Area (PCA) to make ruling. 1. If pass goes to Trail PCA, Trail takes pass and Lead takes crash. 2. If pass goes to Lead PCA, Trail takes crash and Lead takes pass.
