For AP classes Band and Choir in 9th grade Courses needed to match 8 Credits a year Need 6 to be a sophomore – 7 to play a sport

Graduation Requirements 28 credits needed to graduate
Standard Diploma 6 verified credits 4 English 3 Math (Algebra 1 and above) 3 Science (from at least 2 different disciplines) 4 Social Studies 2 Health/PE 1 Fine Art 1 CTE 1 World Language 1 Econ/Personal Finance 8 Electives Advanced Diploma 9 verified credits 4 English 4 Math (Algebra 1 and above) 4 Science (from at least 3 different disciplines) 4 Social Studies 2 Health/PE 1 Fine Art 1 CTE 1 Econ/Personal Finance 3 World Language (or 2 each of two languages) 4 electives By end of 11th grade students should have completed 3 English credits, 3 or 4 math credits, 3 science credits, 3 social studies credits, 2 H/PE Credits, 2 or 3 World Lang credits (for advanced diploma), possibly the fine arts and technology credits, and numerous electives

Students have until March 30 to finalize course requests – NO changes can be made after this date! High school counselors will visit the middle schools next week Hornsby on Tues., 2/21 Berkeley on Wed., 2/22

If you take Algebra in “parts” your SOL will be at the end of the year. Regular Algebra 1 will take the SOL at the end of the semester.

Prereq for 1 semester Geometry – C or better in Alg 1 (one semester) or B or better in Algebra 1 (year long) Algebra 2 is required for an advanced diploma Alg 2/Trig – A or B in Algebra 1 and Geometry

World History I Up to 1500 A.D. Rise and Fall of the Major Empires Including Egypt, Greece, Rome, and China examining The Medieval Era and the European Renaissance World History II 1500 A.D. to the present Topics include the Reformation, The Age of Discovery, the Industrial Revolution, WW I and II Make sure you look at the pre-reqs before you sign up for a course!!!

The Pathways Project @ LHS
The Pathways Lafayette High School will give students opportunities to explore leadership and entrepreneurship as well as develop core skill sets required for many possible careers. Students have to apply (deadline TBA) 100 freshmen students 9th grade schedule will be amended after acceptance into program Parent meetings at the middle school will take place the week of April 24th
