Hargrave JROTC Falcon Battalion Harris County Sherriff department Academy TEEN CERT Training 16 February 2017 Event: This course is intended to provide an overview of the CERT program that prepares citizens to assist in emergency response activities. The course will better prepare facilitators and instructors to assist with the basic CERT Course (FEMA Course G317) by demonstrating instructional methods and familiarizing you with the instructional modules of that course. Communication Objectives: What: Harris County Fire and Sheriff Training Academy Room #7, 2316 Atascocita Rd., Humble, TX Who: Any First Responder who is involved in training or community outreach and is interested in a complete understanding of the CERT curriculum; class size is limited to 40 students.. Activities: •Overview of the Citizen Corps •History of C.E.R.T. and Community Preparedness •Fire Awareness and Suppression •Medical: Basic First Aid •Disaster Medical Triage •Basic Search and Rescue •Team Origination •Disaster Psychology •Terrorism Awareness •CERT Exercise Drill Key Take-Aways: Hargrave JROTC has teamed up with the Harris County Fire 7 Safety Division and the Harris County of Emergency Management to offer Teen CERT. The Hargrave JROTC Teen Community Emergency Response Team Program (Teen CERT) trains teen citizens to help cope in the time period immediately following a disaster when local public safety resources may be overwhelmed. But more importantly, Teen CERT members learn how to prepare for a disaster long before one occurs. We will prepare for and respond to a hypothetical emergency, such as a hurricane, mass casualty accident, or epidemic. The Hargrave Falcon Bn with the Hargrave HOSA team endured a wonderful partnership well planned event.
