1 Relief Tile Design Project

2 RELIEF SCULPTURE Is a type of sculpture in which the form projects from a background. In high relief, the forms stand far out from the background. In low relief (best known as bas-relief), they are shallow. The images that appear in this slideshow are either in the public domain, are copyright free under the GNU licensing agreement or have been reproduced as part of the Yorke project. Links to images that are not in the public domain or have copyright restrictions have been provided.

15 Project Choose a design inspired from nature or any lesson from your sketchbook. Make a sketch of your design onto the paper provided. Draw the square with your design inside. 4. I will approve it or make suggestions. Think about placement, overlapping, details and patterns. 5. You will receive a slab of clay 1/2 inch thick. 6. Make your sketch to size so you can trace onto clay. 7. You must use subtractive, additive, and incising in your piece. 8. Tiles can be round or square. Make sure you know which one you want before I call you up for your clay.
