Instructions Layout 1 01 This is the area where you place your instructional content for the learner. 02 For example, you might wish to mention the quiz at the end of the course. 03 Perhaps you wish to describe what the learner must do to complete the course 04 Add or subtract items as needed. While this slide is labeled as “Instructions Layout,” it can easily be adapted to serve as a number of other slide types. It might be an objectives slide or a menu slide. You can also change the character to match your course.

Instructions Layout 2 While this slide is labeled as “Instructions Layout,” it can easily be adapted to serve as a number of other slide types including Learning Objectives. Title 01 -Subtitle- This is the area where you place your instructional content for the learner. Your instructions could really cover a wide range of topics Title 02 -Subtitle- For example, you might wish to mention that there is a quiz at the end of the course. Or that there are resources available in the resources tab. Title 03 -Subtitle- Or, you might describe how much time the learner should expect to spend completing the course. You might also list prerequisites. Title 04 -Subtitle- And, to motivate learners, you could tell them how they will benefit personally and professionally from taking the course.

Objectives Layout 1 Course objectives should be written in clear and concise language that is easily understood by the learner. SECTION 01 SECTION 02 SECTION 03 SECTION 04 Objectives should be specific and realistic. What knowledge will the learner gain? What will the learner be able to do at the end? “The learner will be able to insert widget A into slot B.” By writing your objectives in behavioral terms, you’re providing the learner with a clearer set of expectations. If you follow these simple tips, you’ll be well on your way to creating a successful learning experience.

Learners can be tempted to skip right past objectives slides, which often itemize objectives in a bulleted list. But a unique layout may just capture learners’ attention. Title 06 Title 01 06 01 Write course objectives in behavioral terms. Course objectives set the stage for learning. Title 05 Title 02 05 02 Use action verbs in your objectives. Course objectives should be clear and concise. Title 03 Title 04 04 03 Express the objectives in a way that is easily understood. State the knowledge and skills the learner will gain.

Define your project requirements, goals, and success criteria before you start the project. Make sure that all of your stakeholders are on the same page about what good quality looks like. Setting clear expectations and goals up front decreases time spent clarifying at a later date. Next, communicate the project workflow, including major milestones.

The grid layout could be used as a menu slide with course topics represented visually. Simply replace one or two of the grids with an image, and the layout really pops! Three Column Layout The beauty of using the three column layout is that it helps the brain quickly organize the information on the slide. The text on this slide is placeholder copy to be replaced with your content. TITLE 01 TITLE 02 TITLE 03 Most of the time, your SMEs assume your course will look and feel just like the other courses they’ve seen. That’s why they might look completely baffled when you start talking to them about creating a highly interactive course with scenarios and quizzes. Just remember that they might have a hard time visualizing this, so do whatever you can to help them understand what you’re planning to create. Start by showing them a sample of the course you plan on creating. When you take the time to do this, it will help them to understand what you’re creating and contribute the most relevant possible information. Next, prepare a list of questions before you talk to your SMEs.

Graphic Metaphor This graphic metaphor can help the learner visualize a variety of concepts. You could use the graphic metaphor as a summary of content presented so far. You might choose to use it to present some statistical data. Or you may use it to inspire learners to keep moving ahead in the course!
