Occupational Hygiene To capture hazards a pump draws air through a sampler Site levels are compared to National Exposure Standards Controls are introduced to site if uncompliant Personal protection ensures employees are not exposed To capture hazards a pump draws air through a sampler Site levels are compared to National Exposure Standards Controls are introduced to site if uncompliant Personal protection ensures employees are not exposed

Occupational Noise Excessive noise endangers hearing & lives Inaudible operation signals result in accidents, loss of communication & productivity Constant exposure creates fatigue & reduces attention span Excessive noise endangers hearing & lives Inaudible operation signals result in accidents, loss of communication & productivity Constant exposure creates fatigue & reduces attention span Freight train horn -100 Saw Bus 80km/hr Car 80km/hr Rock concert Rail car 80km/hr Indoor A/C Typical library Background noise in a office Quiet rural area

Indoor Air Quality Gas detectors can be used to alarm when levels exceed the exposure criteria. The following air quality parameters may be tested to determine the source of the reduced air quality. Dust; Humidity, oxygen, temperature, CO, CO2; VOCs; and, H2S, SOX, NOX. Gas detectors can be used to alarm when levels exceed the exposure criteria. Microbe Investigations Excess water, humidity or un-cleaned ventilation units lead to increased microbiological growth. Air conditioners, cooling towers and human contact are a number of avenues for microbes to be introduced into an indoor environment. Enclosed indoor environments once exposed to unnatural levels of microbes will be re-circulated and sensitive allergic reactions may occur.
