2 Purpose of the Update To provide an update of the status of the Lambeth Community Improvement Plan (CIP) process, key goals & objectives, and next steps.

4 CIPs CIPS are Action Plans
Vision, Goals & Strategies to guide improvements CIPs Identify changes needed to planning policies, zoning and practices Identify & focus on needs, and community goals, objectives & priorities Direct funds for improvements to infrastructure and public space Stimulate private (re)investment: grants and/or loans for specific eligible costs Identify stakeholders, leaders and potential collaborations & partnerships Help coordinate municipal expenditures and planning & development activity Acquire, rehabilitate, repair and/or dispose of land Focus and coordinate efforts to make improvements through rehabilitation and redevelopment in an established area. Long-term strategy Not a quick fix Success involves many stakeholders – City, Community Association, Businesses, local groups (e.g. Horticulture Society)

5 Proposed Lambeth CIP Project Area
Lambeth Residential Neighbourhood Lambeth Village Core North Lambeth Village Core South This area is the proposed Lambeth CIP PROJECT AREA. Dingman Creek acts as part of the City’s Urban Growth Boundary. The PROJECT Area is keeping with the City’s policies which do not support development outside of the Urban Growth Boundary. The Project Area has been divided into 3 Project Sub-Areas which are based on policy direction of SWAP as well as existing conditions and characteristics. Lambeth Village Core North: Located along a major traffic route this project sub-area comprises of lands with frontage on either side of Main Street (between Campbell Street and Colonel Talbot Road) zoned Business District Commercial, and lands on either side of Colonel Talbot Road (between Main Street and Sunray Avenue) zoned Arterial Commercial. Lambeth Village Core South: This project sub-area is also located along a major traffic route through the community and comprises of lands with frontage on either side of Colonel Talbot Road (between Sunray Avenue and Dingman Creek, (south of Outer Drive) zoned Arterial Commercial. Lambeth Residential Neighbourhood: This project sub-area has a close relationship to both the Lambeth Village Core North and South. It is comprised of lands zoned Residential and some lands with frontage on either side of Wharncliffe Road South zoned Arterial Commercial. PROPOSED CIP Project Area

goals & objectives of the Lambeth CIP MOBILITY, SAFETY & ACCESSIBILITY Lambeth will have a safe, multi-modal transportation network that is connected with the City of London and prioritizes walking & cycling. quality, connectivity, safety, and navigability of the pedestrian and cycling environments strong physical connections with other parts of the City of London and in particular, areas within the Southwest Area Secondary Plan planning and design of streets, streetscapes, and the public realm PROPOSED ACTIONS: Pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, facilities and amenities Install sidewalks to connect areas New crossover on Main Street between South Rutledge and Bainard Improve intersection of Kilbourne Road and Colonel Talbot Road New Colonel Talbot and James for accessing community centre Improve sidewalks and lighting Bicycle route along Main Street or a parallel road Physical and visual connections Signal timing at Colonel Talbot and Main Street intersection Increase bus service + make sure bus stops have required infrastructure

17 UPDATES CULTURAL HERITAGE PARKS & RECREATION
Cenotaph added to the City’s Public Art & Monument Lifecycle Capital Maintenance Program to be assessed by a Conservator, improved and maintained PARKS & RECREATION Study to evaluate needs was conducted in 2017 with the Soccer Association. No needs were identified. Results of study to be included in Parks & Recreation Master Plan Review of recreational & park facilities part of normal ongoing review process (e.g. washrooms); any required improvements are included in the lifecycle renewal schedule Parks & Recreation Master Plan underway Community Association invited to participate in the May 2018 Stakeholder Session

Urban Design Guidelines in process Main Street Infrastructure Project Streetscape Master Plan includes: fixed planters will be installed at Mail Street & Campbell Street and Mail Street & Colonel Talbot Road trees on both sides of Main Street pedestrian-scale lighting on the south side of Main Street seat walls in intersection plaza Colonel Talbot /Main and Campbell/Main intersections benches COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS, CAPACITY & FUNDING Lambeth Community Association added to Planning Circulation List Service London Business happy to talk about communication Neighbourhood, Children & Fire Services happy to discuss community-based decision making approach for funded improvements in the Lambeth CIP
