18: Someone who legally lives in the U.S, but is not a citizen. 19: Someone who lives in the U.S, but is not a citizen.

11 FORMS OF GOV’T (AUTOCRACY)
#7 An autocracy has one ruler. Examples of autocracies include: limited monarchy, absolute monarchy, theocracy, and dictatorship.

12 FORMS OF GOV’T (AUTOCRACY)
#10 Dictatorship – has one ruler with complete power over everything. #12 Limited monarchy - the same thing as a constitutional monarchy. The constitution limits the power of the ruling family and what they can do. #17 Absolute monarchy – has one ruler who inherited absolute power.

13 Oligarchy Definition- The government is run by a few, and people don’t have a say Interesting fact- The term Oligarchy originated in Ancient Greece, Aristotle used the term to refer to the debased form of aristocracy.

14 Republic Definition- A state in which the supreme power is held by people and elective representatives. Interesting fact- Copies of the Constitution are preserved in helium filled cases in the National Archives.

15 Self government Definition- A country by its own people especially after being a colony ; also a direct democracy Interesting fact- People who were traveling on the Mayflower had a direct democracy.

Little power in the central government.

Power is shared between central government and states.

Almost all power is located with the central government.
