Research indicates that extraverts seek stimulation because their normal brain arousal is relatively low Frontal lobe less active in extraverts than introverts Reactive autonomic nervous system= respond to stress with great anxiety

Personality inventories- questionnaire (A/D, T/F) on which people respond to items designed to gauge a wide range of feelings and behaviors; used to assess selected personality traits Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory- most widely researched and clinically used of all personality tests- Originally used to identify emotional disorders Empirically derived- test developed by testing a pool of items then selecting those that discriminate between groups (lie scale)
