LPS immuno-depleted LPS immuno-depleted Figure e-3. Immunoabsorption specificity controls in AD and control brain. Immunohistochemistry of AD and control brains using antibody against Gram-negative LPS (RayBiotech, MD ) as well as E. coli LPS depleted antibody (LPS from VWR, ; antibody:LPS = 1:10). The Gram-negative LPS antibody detected nuclei in control (A) and AD (B) brains as well as cytoplasm in AD brains (B), whereas E. coli LPS immuno-depleted antibody eliminated all tissue staining in control brain (C) and AD brain (D). These data showed that LPS was being immunostained. AD = Alzheimer’s disease. Brown = positive staining. Purple = Hematoxylin counterstaining. Bar = 25µm.
