How the word is used in various passages of the Bible:
Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? Acts 3:11-12 (NKJV) for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Tim 2:2 (NKJV)

How the word is used in various passages of the Bible:
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. 1 Tim 3:16 (NKJV) But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 1 Tim 4:7-8 (NKJV)

How the word is used in various passages of the Bible:
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness 1 Tim 6:3 (NKJV) useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Tim 6:5-6 (NKJV) But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 1 Tim 6:11 (NKJV)

How the word is used in various passages of the Bible:
having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 2 Tim 3:5 (NKJV) Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness Titus 1:1 (NKJV) Cf. Jn. 8:32; 14:6

How the word is used in various passages of the Bible:
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue 2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) Cf. 2 Pet. 1:6-7; Gen. 1:26; Lev. 19:2; 1 Pet. 1:16 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness 2 Peter 3:11 (NKJV)

Principles in action: One does not get the distinction of being a “servant” of God if not for godliness (Num. 12:7). Moses was able to speak to God as a friend (Exod. 33:11; Cf. Gen. 5:24; Heb. 11:5). Moses had a healthy fear of God (Cf. Jn. 15:14). The LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to His friend (Exod. 33:11, 20-23; Cf. Ps. 27:9, 69:17, 102:2; Ps. 27:8; Ps. 105:4). Perhaps the best way we can attain godliness in our lives, is to imitate Christ in ALL things (1 Cor. 4:16; 11:1)!
