2 Student & Advisor Responsibilities
Senior advisors will: Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, curriculum and interpretation of policies and procedures. Work with new students who are enrolled in one of the Student Success courses. Students will: Schedule regular advising appointments and come prepared with questions. Be an active learner by participating fully in the advising experience. Ask questions if you do not understand an issue or have a specific concern.

5 Academic Transfer Education Associate of Art or Science
Key Questions: Is your primary goal to obtain a bachelor's degree at a university? Do you plan on taking the "basics" at a community college so that you can transfer to a university as fast as possible? Are you already at a university and wish to take courses at a community college to transfer back to the university? About Academic Transfer Education: In Academic Transfer Education, you will be taking General Education Core Curriculum courses and some major prerequisites at the community college. The major courses of the bachelor degree will be taken in the junior and senior years at the university after completion of the associate degree.

Workforce Education Key Questions: Is your primary goal to obtain the skills to get a job as fast as possible? Do you want a short-term, up-to-date and relevant education using a workplace curriculum? Are you wanting to update your work skills or advance your career? Are you thinking about quickly changing careers? Are you thinking about transferring to the university to get a bachelor's degree but only after you have been working for awhile? About Workforce Education: The Workforce Education means that you will be taking mostly Technical Job-focused courses and a few General Education courses for the completion of your certificate or associate degree at the community college. Workforce course credit does transfer to some universities unless is listed as BASS program . 16 Re - Test TSIA Texas Success Initiative Assessment
You can retest anytime after initial test. Go to Advising Office to obtain a retesting slip. (Authorization Form ) $10 fee per section or $29 for entire test. Pay fee at the Business Office. Review section(s) you are retesting in (PAA verification certificate is not required) This is the part where we will go over each of the areas that will be covered in the TSI Assessment ( Practice test) Test day Assessment Authorization Form Valid Photo ID Fee Receipt

17 Dropping/Withdrawing
Withdrawing from a Course: After the “Official Date of Record” A grade of a W will appear on transcripts. Six Drop Rule !!!!! Dropping a Course: Before the “Official Date of Record” May be eligible for a partial refund ( 70%, 25% ) student will not receive a grade course will not appear on Transcript Know Your DUE DATES for each semester ! ALWAYS check the HCC Academic Calendar !
