Next Steps Bring together steering committee.
Invite people to the table. [who else? – schools, etc.] Ensure leadership group includes staff and those with lived experience (i.e. youth, seniors, etc.). Situation assessment include survey, community conversations to identify priorities, what’s missing/gaps, barriers and contributions. Plan hike on trails with those with lived experience. Ensure community involvement in developing options and solutions (i.e. housing, transportation, etc.) Bring data holders together: share, interpret, prioritize target areas. Gather and communicate what is present & what works. Expand while overcoming identified barriers. Ensure accessibility and transportation (overcome barriers). Link to funders. Help other partners define their role and what they can contribute.

The number of seniors aged 65 and over is projected to more than double from about 2.2 million, or 16.0 per cent of population in 2015, to over 4.5 million, or 25.3 per cent, by In 2015, for the first time, seniors accounted for a larger share of population than children aged 0–14. By the early 2030s, once all baby boomers have reached age 65, the pace of increase in the number and share of seniors is projected to slow significantly.
