What is WebPositionGold?
A tool to evaluate web pages and suggest changes so pages will rate higher with the top search engines. A tool to submit web pages to 19 of the top search engines. A tool to keep your pages rating high on a continuing basis. 11/7/2018
3
Pervasive Myths: Submitting web site pages to hundreds of search engines will result in thousands of new visitors (Note: Many engines are there primarily to collect addresses). Submitting once is enough. Submitting numerous times increases your ratings. Having a large set of meta tag keywords is all that is needed. 11/7/2018
4
Facts: Meta tags are not a magic solution.
Each search engine uses different rating criteria - some use keywords & descriptions in meta tags - some do not. Rating in the top ten hits with all the search engines is next to impossible. 95 percent of all searches are done via less than 20 search engines – hence optimize your pages to a few engines. WebPositionGold helps optimize pages to specific search engines – hence helps insure high ratings on these engines. 11/7/2018
5
More Facts: Choosing a correct set of keyword phrases is paramount to success. Rarely use single keywords – most searches two or three word phrases (cheap flights; RV Rentals Annapolis). Use the plural form of keywords. Case Sensitivity – Insure you page has both lower and uppercase versions of the the primary keywords. Think like the visitor you want to attract – ask friends what keywords they would use to search for your site. 11/7/2018
6
Still More Facts: Page design and layout is important.
If your opening page has frames, some engines will not find anything else on your site. If you use frames, put links and text in a <no frames> section. On each page include a link back to your home page and/or previous page. 11/7/2018
7
Even More Facts: Clearly describe the contents of each page in the meta description tag – it is displayed in the search results screen by most engines. Place primary keywords in the Title, Meta Tag, Heading, Link Text and Body (listed in decreasing level of importance to most search engines). Place primary keywords close to the top of the page or at the start of the area in which the keyword appears. Get as many other sites to link to yours as possible – some engines like that. 11/7/2018
8
Final Page of Facts: Write Killer Page Titles - longer titles are generally better. Make your titles and meta descriptions “compelling” and use upper and lower case – do not use all upper case. Use primary key words within the URL can be given extra relevancy by some search engines – separate keywords in URLs with dashes or underscores. Some engines may take several weeks for your submittal to be indexed by the engine – WebPostionGold tells you how long it may take. 11/7/2018

What’s Next Bubba? Review your sites’ pages with the previously stated facts in mind. Evaluate and select/format the primary keyword phrases that you know will bring desired users to your site. Decide which engines to optimize for. Use WebPositionGold to help you accomplish the above. Update your pages and evaluate again. Do not submit your pages until you have done your homework – then use WebPostionGold to do so. Re-evaluate your pages monthly. 11/7/2018

12
What’s a “doorway” page?

A “doorway page” for a given engine can be any page: your home page, product information page, etc. The key is – it has the proper number of words, keywords and other variables to rank well one or more search engines. 11/7/2018
13

It offers specific advice or improving the page’s design and content to make it rate higher for the keyword set and engine being targeted.
