What do you get from The Compass Award?
leadership and teamwork skills You get to help out in the community You get to build your own program with activities you enjoy! a chance to gain the benefits of The Duke of Ed Award at a younger age

The four Sections are: Physical Activity Hobbies/Skills Volunteering
Exploration

Physical Activity Participate in school or community sport
Join a dance class Learn a martial art Regularly go for a walk Run around the school yard at lunchtime. Take up skipping Try zumba or yoga Swim

Hobbies/ Skills Learn a musical instrument Learn board games Cooking
Learn a language Practise crosswords/sudoku or other puzzles Take up a craft

Volunteering ● Take a role of responsibility at school
● Coach or Referee a sport ● Volunteer at a local community organisation ● Help in junior classrooms ● Environmental causes ● Help at a special school fundraiser e.g. fete, cake stall, flood relief

Exploration - ideas Plan & take a trip somewhere new of 8 hours duration: The city The beach A National Park Sovereign Hill A zoo Go on a bushwalk Go on a bike ride Learn some safety and navigation skills Level 4 only – Take an overnight trip, camping and cooking your own meals

Choosing an Assessor must know more about the activity than you do
must be over the age of 18 Preferably not an immediate family member is able to oversee your progress
