10:00 Combined Discover Berlin and Infamous Third Reich Sites tour: 4 hours 2 Guides This will include all of Berlin's 'main sights’ including amongst others; Museum Island, the Neue Wache, the Book Burning Memorial, the TV Tower, the Brandenburg Gate, the Jewish Memorial, the Reichstag, Hitler's Bunker, the former Airforce Ministry, SS & Gestapo Headquarters, the Berlin Wall, and finishing up with Checkpoint Charlie. *Lunch taken outside at own expense 14.30 Gedenkstatte Hohenschnhausen Prison tour: 2 hours A visit to the former Stasi prison Hohenschönhausen Memorial is a chilling reminder of the fate of the thousands who fell victim, as prisoners of conscience, to political persecution in the former East Germany. Tours are usually conducted by former inmates who provide excellent eyewitness accounts on prison conditions and interrogation methods employed by the former GDR’s Ministry of State Security. 17:00 Shopping at the Mall of Berlin 19:30 Dinner at hotel

08.00 Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Guided Tour This tour will take us to Oranienburg to go through the history of the concentration camp at Sachsenhausen. The focus is naturally on the period , though the guides will also include some information on what came after the liberation; how the Soviets turned the site into a concentration camp of their own and how East Germany used the site to promote their communist world view. (3 hours) 13:30 'The Berlin Wall Tour' This tour focuses on Berlin as a divided city, with a focus on life in East Germany. This includes an in-depth look at the history of the Berlin Wall at the memorial site in Bernauer Strasse, the place where the Wall came down, Bornholmer Strasse, Stalinallee/Karl-Marx-Allee, and the Stasi Headquarters. (4 hours) 19:00 Dinner at hotel 21:00 Bowling at Alexanderplatz (at own expense)

08:00 Breakfast in hotel Room checks and suitcases to be placed on the bus After breakfast, return coach trip to Europoort ferry terminal for overnight crossing to Hull. Regular stops en route Cabins allocated and evening meal taken 21:00 Depart Europoort Ferry Terminal. Evening buffet meal/breakfast included Thursday July 19th. 2018 09:30 Arrival into Hull Journey home with regular stops en route 13:00 Anticipated arrival time back at school

How much money should I take?

What to wear?

General Expectations of Students Ambassadors of St Wilfrid’s School No alcohol, cigarettes or illegal substances Follow instructions and be polite at all times to staff and other students Sensible behaviour at all times Sanctions will be enforced Students could be sent home at a cost to parents

In The Hotel Boys must not go into girls rooms Girls must not go into boys rooms Lock doors of bedrooms Any valuables can be kept for safe keeping by designated staff member. Socialising will take place in the allocated places only. Dangers of balconies and windows. Behaviour around the corridors and hotel must be exemplary.

Coach & Ferry Transportation Students will be in head count groups Do not to leave baggage and valuables unattended No purchases from Duty Free* Stay alert and keep their eyes on the staff member to whose sub-group they belong at all times All pupils will be issued with emergency contact numbers for Kev and the School Group Leader (Miss Goodall) Exemplary behaviour around members of the public

Medication Pupils will receive a medical form shortly to complete including dietary requirements. Information needs to be as detailed and up to date as possible. Please inform me of any changes prior to visit European Health Insurance Card All medication should be labelled with dosage and your child's name and given to a member of staff by the parent before they get on the coach. Medication can not be given out if this is not completed. No student should be self-medicating, unless this is agreed on the medical forms.
