2 To Do List: Complete PRIOR to Group Advising
Update your four-year plan Review your academic progress on Degree Works Check URSA account for ‘HOLDS’ and note your registration date based on earned credit hours Note: “Holds” may prohibit registration Check for transfer credit accuracy Review the Freshman Power Point presentation prior to appointment Please be prompt!

3 Where are Your Classes Located?
Check carefully for the location of your classes To ensure your classes are at UNC. . . Classes should be located in a UNC building with a room number DO NOT register for any class with: LOWR, LOV, OR COSP as the location DIST = Extended Studies: Additional tuition cost

4 Course Information: Registering for Science Classes?
Please click on the CRN number for specific course prerequisites, co-requisites, and information Registering for Science Classes? SCI 265 and SCI 266: You must register for the lecture (4 cr.) and the lab (0 cr.). Submit both CRN numbers at the same time to register. A lecture is linked with a specific lab. (Example: Section 006 for lecture, will link with Section 106 for lab.) Note: SCI 265 is a prerequisite for SCI 266

6 GPA is Very Important! Please take your grades seriously!
There are two cumulative GPA checkpoints in the Elementary Education program: (1) Students need a 2.75 cumulative GPA for these classes: EDF 370, EDEL 350, and PSY 347 (2) a 3.0 cumulative GPA for your last two semesters which include your second Practicum and Student Teaching The more credits you accumulate, the harder it is to raise your GPA with a semester of classes The most practical, efficient, and least stressful strategy is to earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA early in your college career and maintain it throughout your studies

7 Grade Replacement is the Best way to Raise Your GPA
Complete the Grade Replacement form prior to the semester’s drop deadline Once the new grade is posted, the first grade is removed from your GPA (but does remain on your transcript) Form is available on Registrar’s website Information can be found at Contact Financial Aid regarding guidelines Grade Replacement may affect Financial Aid and does affect COF Stipend

8 How to Sign-up for Your Group Advising Session:
Everyone must sign-up for a Group Advising Session using the link that was ed to you on February 9th. We are using a new and improved software program that we are implementing. *If you have questions, please stop by the ELED Office at McKee 216 or call at

9 What is Your PIN and How Do You Get One?
Attend Group Advising Take EDEL Group Advising Survey Your Advisor will give you a PIN number that only you can use to register for classes Write down your PIN Register on the designated date (earned hours-check on URSA)

10 Community College Courses:
View the Community College Guaranteed Transfer Agreement form available on the ELED website or in the ELED office education/undergraduate-programs/elementary- education/advising/forms-resources.aspx It can also be found on the Registrar’s home page at: .html Grade of “C” or higher transfers to UNC Transfer credits do not affect your UNC GPA All Transcripts should be sent to the Registrar’s Office

11 Final Notes You can make an individual appointment after attending Group Advising if you have additional questions or need to discuss any issue privately No PIN numbers are given during individual appointments
