1 From last meeting Add MATH 1070 as one of possible prerequisites for CPSC 1010 and 2070 Add CPSC 3720 as prerequisite for CPSC 4910 Approved CPSC 1100 Intro to Programming in Java 4(3,2) Approved CPSC 1210 Computational Thinking 3(2,2)

2 Current and Proposed Intro Sequences
CS AP ECE CS ECE AP CS C 1010 1110 1010 1110 Java Java 2100 C++ 1020 C++ 1020 C++ 2120 2120 Renumber 1100 (new Java course) and 2100 to CPSC 1060 and 1070 for clarity Change the corresponding pre-reqs for CPSC 1020, 1070 (details on next slide)

3 Course Map Changes “Introduction to Computing Requirement” in Freshman year for all three undergraduate curricula: Select either CPSC 1010 and 1020, or CPSC 1060 and CPSC 1110 and 1020 is also acceptable with one elective credit in the first semester. CPSC Preq: CPSC 1010 or 1110 [and math…] CPSC Preq: CPSC 1060. Credit may not be received for more than one of CPSC 1010, 1060, and 1110.

4 Professional Issues II
AP credit Credit given for CPSC 1060 for AP Programming (instead of CPSC 1010) Credit given for CPSC 1210 for AP Computer Science Principles Professional Issues II CPSC Preq: Junior standing and CPSC 3720. Allows for experimental capstone course to be in spring of junior year prior to internship

5 Course Map Changes CIS – change explicit ECON 2110 requirement to “Economics Requirement” defined as: Select from ECON 2000, 2110, and 2120. ECON 2000: Economic Concepts (micro and macro) ECON 2110: Principles of Microeconomics ECON 2120: Principles of Macroeconomics All 3 courses fulfill the prerequisites for upper-level management courses for CIS

6 Course Map Changes Change will correct oversight from last revision
BA / CPSC – change “Mathematical Requirement” to STAT 3090 with footnote: Or MATH 3020, MATH 3110, STAT 3300, or transfer credit for MATH MATH 3110 is required for computer graphics courses. Change will correct oversight from last revision Result will match the BS / CPSC requirements
