Only the 447 and 548 non Co-op programs from that intake have completed their required POS by now. Their graduating numbers were enhanced by people students graduating from previous POS’s that the Grad Rate would be meaningless when compared to Sem 1 enrollments for 2011.

4 TARGET ROLL-UP Current retention rates for programs 536 and 552 showed a respective retention of 87% and 83% for Sem 1 to Sem2 with 87% and 76% for Sem 1 to Sem 3 Overall targets for every program are 75-80%

5 AREAS OF FOCUS Focus on ElectroTech programs are to have intake of students with higher level backgrounds in math and sciences. Math requirements are less emphasized in CSAIT programs but higher math is still recommended.

6 TACTICS Prescreen applicants through higher admission requirements in courses of greatest influence on College success rate. Streaming of those with deficiencies in admissions criteria and prerequisites into PreTechnology to upgrade their academic backgrounds. Offer high failure rate courses in subsequent semesters and through CE/DE/OL for opportunities to retake the course. Improve synchronization of course material delivery between lectures and labs. Request more open labs for students to work on experiments. Request more tutors to be made available in areas of greatest difficulty. Annual reviews and assessments of POS's to improve delivery of subject matter and assimilation of course material for subsequent semesters.

7 CONCERNS / ISSUES Effects of large class sizes on student success
Effect of blended teaching on students with maturity issues Administration of on-line quizzes, tests, assignments, Effects of College to College transfers and direct entry students
