Motivation We need a clear definition for MIH_LINK_SAP
We propose to define MIH_LINK_SAP as a media-independent interface between MIHF and link-layer technologies MIHF provides four types of media-independent SAPs; MIH_LINK_SAP, MIH_SAP, MIH_NMS_SAP and MIH_NET_SAP MIH_LINK_SAP is a media-independent interface between MIHF and link-layer technologies such as IEEE 802.2, 802.3, , and 3GPP/2. Amendments of the link-layer technologies are suggested to have MIH_LINK_SAP

Misleading descriptions for MIH_LINK_SAP and proposed amendments
The MIHF … obtains services from the lower layers through a variety of technology dependent interfaces. (section 1.2) (To be modified as) The MIHF … obtains services from the lower layers through a media independent interfaces MIH_LINK_SAP: This represents the abstract media-dependent interface of MIHF with the lower layers of the protocol stacks. (section 5.5) (To be modified as) MIH_LINK_SAP: This represents media independent interface of MIHF for the lower layers of the protocol stacks This SAP defines the generic media independent link layer interface between MIHF and different link layer technologies. (section ) (To be modified as) This SAP defines the media independent link layer interface between MIHF and different link layer technologies MIH_LINK_SAP should be media-independent

Where is the primitives mapping?
The primitives mapping is described in ; “The key primitives defined as part of MIH_LINK_SAP are described in Table 16 and their mapping to specific link technology primitives are summarized in Table 17.” Figure 12 in page 32 can be understood as if MIH_LINK_SAP had the mapping function

Proposed modification for Figure 12
The mapping function should be included in the figure 12 MIH Users (L3 and above) CS ES IS MIH_SAP Media Independent Interface MIH Function CS ES IS MIH_LINK_SAP The mapping function Media Dependent Interface MLME_SAP, CS_SAP, 3G_LINK_SAP, etc 802.2/ 802.3 LLC 802.11 802.16 3GPP 3GPP2

Summary We have proposed to define MIH_LINK_SAP as a media-independent interface between the MIHF and link-layer technologies Modification to figure 12 has been proposed
