___________________________________________________________ Proposed revised 2017 budget Overall decrease of $209,050 ($185,000 decrease in meeting cost of the COP11/MOP29 due to interpretation services being provided by Government of Canada + the corresponding $24,050 in PSC) Scenarios presented as information to the budget committee to show increase in cash balance due to the estimated Canadian contribution of $190,000, not reflected in the budget documents. Proposed 2018 and 2019 Budgets for each year include a 2% increase in salary costs and 2% increase in meeting costs in 2019 over 2018 All other costs remain constant No new posts

8 Montreal Protocol Trust Fund – Key messages
___________________________________________________________ Cash crisis averted due to strict budget control, paid up contributions and earmarked contributions in 2016 Instead of the initial forecast of -1million, the cash balance at the end of was 2.5 million The projected cash balance at the end of 2017 is 2.4 million The projected cash balance can adequately cover the required reserve No longer necessary to build up a reserve by adding 7.5% on the budget Secretariat recommends that the contribution level is equal to the proposed budgets for 2018 and 2019
