Spirit Day: Comfy Day Read with Us I will be sending a sign up out to see if anyone would like to come in and read to the class, like a Mystery Reader during the month of March. Please me and let me know if you read this. There will be a prize for those that respond. Tennis Shoes for PE and Recess Please be sure your child is wearing tennis shoes on our Day 2, which is PE, and really every day for recess. The mulch on the playground tends to poke our feet when we wear sandals or open-toed shoes for recess. Shoes, other than tennis shoes, do not provide adequate support for our feet and ankles as well. Let’s put safety first! Math – (1.OA.6) I can add and subtract within 20. ELA – (1.RF.3a) I can read consonant digraphs. (1.L.1d) I can use personal, possessive, and indefinite pronouns. (1.L.4b) I can use affixes to figure out what that word means. Science – (1.P.1.2) I can show the unseen force of magnets. I can demonstrate how magnets repel and attract each other. Letterland: Unit Twenty Students will learn about long e in the ea digraph. This is the second pair of the Vowel Men Out WalkingIf you lose the word list, you can always go to our class webpage and print the list. Listening is Key Please talk with your first grader about listening and not talking during lessons and when work time is at a level 0. We continue to have issues with the students being chatty, not listening, and therefore, missing what we are covering in class. The material and pace at which we are coving new material has picked up drastically!! We will continue to buckle down more on behavior in class. Learner Profile of the Month: Balanced We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives—intellectual, physical, and emotional—to achieve well-being for ourselves and others. We recognize our interdependence from other people and with the world in which we live.
