The Rotary is for Reading Program strongly supports the Kalamazoo Promise and gets Rotarians involved.

This is the first exposure KPS students will have to The Kalamazoo Promise
Each KPS second grade student receives their own copy of I Know I Can by Wendy W. Rouillard

Represents the first time many second-graders will have a book of their own
Instills a belief in every child that they can go to college
Provides interactive exercises to encourage each child to get involved, and start thinking about college

4. Tactics An Opportunity for Rotarians to participate
Two Rotarians visit each second-grade classroom one time during the school year
Read the book to the students
Assist students as they participate in the interactive portions of the book
