Over-the-Cap Salary: Current NIH Salary Cap $189,600 Over-the-Cap Salary: The portion of a faculty or staff member’s salary (and associated fringe benefits) that exceed the regulatory maximum imposed by the sponsor (e.g., National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense salary cap). Over-the-cap salary cannot be used to meet a mandatory or voluntary committed cost sharing requirement, since it is considered an unallowable cost to the sponsor. This should be tracked via a department G/L account using the G/L Activity Value 'Over Cap Salary Allocation' and is calculated per pay period (i.e., monthly or bi- weekly). For Example: XX.XXX.XXXXXX XXXX.XXXX

If you have information to share with the evaluation team about how Faculty identifies funding opportunities, thoughts on how Dartmouth’s funding opportunity database can be useful to Faculty, or any other comments about facets of funding opportunity databases that are useful in the Faculty role (for example, the Profile section of Pivot), please share! All feedback will be considered helpful in determining a direction for the future.
