Australian Core Skills Framework
The ACSF can be used to identify and describe an individual's performance in the core skills of learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy, so that training can be targeted to areas of need and an individual's progress monitored over time

Transition from School
Under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 schooling is compulsory for students aged from 6 until they turn 17. Students of compulsory age are only permitted to leave school if an exemption is in place. Exemptions are only available in certain circumstances. Student will participate in approved education or training Student has an apprenticeship or traineeship Student has a full time job Student will participate in a combination of education/training and employment Other reasons and leaving school is in their best interests

Skills First | Victorian Training Guarantee
Generally, you are eligible for a government-subsidised training place if you are: an Australian citizen an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa) a New Zealand citizen and are any of the following: under 20 years of age seeking to enrol in a Foundation Skills List course (and do not hold a Diploma or above qualification or are receiving core skills training in other sectors) seeking to enrol in VCE or VCAL seeking to enrol in an apprenticeship 20 years and older and ‘upskilling’ by seeking to enrol in a course at a higher level than your existing qualification. There is a lifetime limit of two subsidised course commencements at each qualification level, regardless of whether you have completed the course.*
