European Public Administration: A.Is multi-disciplinary: economics, law, political science, sociology B.Pays a lot of attention to research methods and methods for policy analysis & design C.Is not just about government, but is about multi-level governance (global > EU > national > regional > local) D.Is about multi-actor governance (public-private networks/partnerships) E.Pays attention to public management (management of public organizations)

Implications for current ES students EPA will start in September 2013 (1st year) and is then phased-in (2nd year in 2014-2015, 3rd year in 2015-2016) Current cohorts of students (who started in September 2012 or before) will follow theirown old programme, which will be phased-out What happens to the courses from the old ES programme? 2012-2013: 1 st year courses are offered for the last time 2013-2014: 2 nd year courses will be offered for the last time 2014-2015: 3 rd year courses (including UT-minors) will be offered for the last time Re-takes 1 st year courses in 2013-2014, of 2 nd year courses in 2014-2015, of 3 rd year courses in 2015-2016

Note: study-plan needed in the case of 3 rd take! More generally: contact the study counsellor early (end of Summer 2013) in case you still have unfinished courses (this goes for 2 nd and 3 rd year students as well) To be decided (after BSA, early September 2013): bezemklassen = extra offer of teaching (lectures and/or tutorials) for those courses that are still left for a large group of students In addition: individual tailor-made solutions: -Capita selecta courses (individual finalization of courses under supervision of teacher, by means of a paper or oral exam) -Participation in (parts of) EPA modules -Student can be completely transferred to the new EPA programme (if possible with partial exemptions)
