PUM What is it? PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) is used to apply PeopleSoft application maintenance & enhancements. All PeopleSoft 9.2 applications are PUM-enabled, as well as the PeopleSoft Interaction Hub 9.1. PUM is built into PIA, and is used to facilitate patch searching and custom Change Package generation. PeopleSoft Change Assistant orchestrates the entire process. It lowers the costs and the ability to stay current on application maintenance using selective adoption.

Common Questions Is PUM compatible with a non-Oracle database? Yes PUM is compatible with a non-Oracle database. How frequently do I need to take the PeopleSoft Update Image? Oracle recommends you download each PeopleSoft Update Image as it is released to get all fixes delivered for your application. How do I know that a fix I require is included in the PeopleSoft Update Image? Each fix in an image is listed on the PUM Update Image homepage – under Update Image Link. In addition, you can use the Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO) tool to see which features have been added between different releases or update images.

DPK PeopleSoft Deployment PacKages.
What is it? PeopleSoft Deployment PacKages. DPK provides a faster, more flexible way to install PeopleSoft Update Images (PUM), PeopleTools product patches, and Upgrade Source Images. DPK rolls up the parts of a PeopleSoft environment into a series of zip files. Any physical or virtual machine can be used as long as the version of Linux or Windows being used is certified as a server with the version of PeopleTools. DPKs are delivered with PeopleSoft Puppet modules. VCDs are no longer available with PeopleTools 8.57.

Fluid What is it? PeopleSoft applications that have been developed and enabled for Fluid display will appear dynamically, depending on the device and screen size used for access, all based on a single page layout definition. You create a single page definition, using the flexible Fluid design approach, and it will display as needed on all the different supported devices, be it an Android phone or iPhone or tablet or a PC. Unlike the "classic" method, pages and components must be specifically defined for use with Fluid.

Not all application pages are delivered for use with Fluid. For Custom Fluid pages pre-defined layouts are provided. Unlike "classic" pages, Fluid pages do not look like the final product. In 8.57 we do provide ‘preview mode’. Macro Sets can be used to apply custom look and feel to the Header. Event Mapping What is it? The Related Content Framework can be used to map application class PeopleCode programs to component level, page level, and component record level events This allows custom PeopleCode programs to be defined for a component without customizing the component definition in Application Designer.
