14 End-point assessment. The End Point Assessment (EPA) is the culmination of the apprenticeship. It measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours of each apprentice and grades their performance against the apprenticeship standard It is carried out by an independent Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation (AAO) against an assessment plan aligned to the apprenticeship. The AAO and assessment itself must be independent of, and separate from, the training provided by the provider and employer.
