There is a Phonics and Numeracy bias to the mornings work and Literacy and foundation subjects are covered in the afternoons. 3 Teamwork The children meet the following teaching staff during the course of the week; S. Howard, S. Murphy, Mrs Oakley, Mrs Guy, Mrs MacQuarrie, Mrs Ruddy and Mrs Porter. 7 Planning/Curriculum Literacy- Children follow the Rigby Star reading scheme. When reading with your child it may be helpful to refer to the strategies in the handout. 8 Planning/Curriculum ICT- Computers and the interactive whiteboard are used daily and laptops are used weekly. P.D. will be on a Monday, Swimming will be on a Tuesday every other term, you will get a letter with details of payment nearer the time and Games on a Thursday. 9 Homework Children will receive homework on a Tuesday for the following Tuesday. This should be completed with lots of encouragement. Please remember the work should be completed by the child. This will be spellings or phonics work. Reading homework will be given every night. The children will sometimes be given other work to do. All work will be stuck into their green homework books so please check these regularly.
