1. Structure of the Bagrut 5 Points Students

2. 5 points - The English Bagrut consists of 4 parts:
Module E – unseen (70p) + listening comprehension (30p). This is done at the end of 11th grade.
Module F – a literature module Log which includes: 2 poems, 3 short stories and 1 play. The literary pieces are studied over a period of 3 years. The Log will be explained separately
Module G – unseen (60p) + writing a composition (40p). This is done in the summer of 12th grade.
Oral Bagrut – project presentation (60%) + personal interview (40%). This is done also in the middle of 12th grade.
The average of all 4 parts is your final grade in English.

3. Your Final Grade – 5 Points
The Final Bagrut grade is calculated as follows:
If you are not satisfied with your Bagrut grade , you can take Moed B in the summer. They will take the highest of the grades.

4. The process of learning any literary piece includes:
pre reading activity
vocabulary and basic understanding
questions
analysis & interpretation questions + literary terms
HOTS – higher order thinking skills
Bridging Text and Context - background information related to the literary piece
post reading activity
Reflection
Summative assessment – test on 1-2 pieces

5. The Structure of the Literature Log in 5 Points. Module F
Part 1 - The tests on the 6 literary pieces are 40 %
If any of the components are missing you will lose 10 points on one of the graded tasks.

6. The two other parts
Part 2 -The personal response- This is an ungraded part that you must include,but if any are missing you will lose 10 points on one of the graded tasks. There is a total of 2 handed in at the end of 11th and 12th grade.
Part 3-The internal written Bagrut Exams are part of the total grade of module F but are not included in the log folder. Total 40 %.
Part 4 – The 5 book report tests 2 in 10th grade, 2 in 11th grade and 1 in 12th 20% total. The 5th is optional.

7. Basic Requirements
This new literature module (F) demands a lot of work and organization.
It also requires the ability to express yourselves well in English, since most of the questions are open-ended.
