St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Broadway Newsletter Page 6 – Sports Week Dear Parents Next week we are having a Sports and fitness week at school. This will include our annual sports day on Wednesday 21st June starting at 1pm. You are welcome to join us for a healthy picnic lunch from 12pm. On Monday the children can come dressed as a famous sportsman or woman. This will help to launch the week. On the other days of the week they will be able to wear their PE kit. Having the correct PE equipment in school is very important and we would like everyone to be wearing the correct school kit. No football shirts are to be worn on these days. The correct PE kit is white t-shirt, blue shorts and trainers or pumps. If you have the new PE kit that should be the school t-shirt, shorts and trainers. On each day we will have something different for the children to do. House matches will take place throughout the week where they will be able to collect points towards a final house sports award at the end of the week. We will also be focusing on healthy eating at playtimes. Children should be bringing one snack to have which should be healthy. The children who have a healthy snack each day will receive a certificate at the end of the week. Each day each class will be spending ten minutes walking, running or jogging around the field. The idea is not to see who is quickest but to build up stamina through the week. A summary of events next week. I hope you agree this will be a fun and exciting week and encourage pupils to have an active and healthy lifestyle. Thank you Mr John ‘’ Monday Dress up as sportsman/woman, house matches Tuesday Multi skills afternoon with support from KS2 Wednesday Sports day and morning.
