First, notice that added to the Club board of directors is a position for the Club LCIF Coordinator. The Club Board of Directors has seven main positions now in addition to the second vice president and Immediate Past Club President (who may also fill the LCIF Coordinator position on the board), the main seven are: Club President First Vice President Secretary Treasurer Membership Chairperson Newly added Marketing Communications Chairperson And Service Chairperson Notice that Standing Committees are also structured to support the main functions of a successful club. With the new club officers defined in the revised Standard Club Constitution and By-Laws, roles and responsibilities have been also been defined for several of the club officers. This structure is part of a larger perspective for moving into the next century of providing needed humanitarian service in our communities. So what is this new strategy and structure ? Revised Standard Club Constitution and By-Laws Defines officers, directors and committee chairpersons positions. Committees’ roles. Defines model club structure. To enhance the operation of clubs, and provide a focused structure for club leaders, major changes have been made to the Standard Club Constitution and By-Laws. New officers, director and committee chairperson positions Committees repurposed – Committees are now based on the seven main club officers and support the main functions of a successful club: Providing meaningful community Service Growing Membership and providing positive relationships Developing top leaders Defines new model club structure – Let’s take a look at the newly added club officer positions and the new model club structure

Zone Chairperson Includes the club officers in the training and events hosted by the zone. Two Certified Guiding Lions Providing two key leaders allows them to share the work load. One Guiding Lion should attend each meeting and be available for questions. Club District Governor Team Provides district-hosted training at the earliest opportunity available. Club Officer Mentors Matching the officers with knowledgeable and experienced club officers from another club will provide very practical support. Be aware of the latest tools and information.

Net membership Service Reporting One of the most valuable tools to assist the zone chairperson is the club health assessment report. Generated monthly and ed to the district governor Ask your district governor to share this report with you each month. Mentor Checklist Designed for each club officer Mentor to review within 30 days the roles and responsibilities as well as resources available. Mentor checklists are available for the Club President, Club Secretary, Club Treasurer and Club Membership Chairperson (pages 28-31). 1 2 Club Assessment Determine the club’s needs and areas for development. It may also be used as a checklist for new officers to confirm the understanding and find areas that might need further support (pages 32-35). 3 Transition to Independence A checklist to gauge the club’s progress as the club becomes more self reliant (pages 36-37).

Test for Certified Guiding Lion To be completed upon the conclusion of the Lion taking the course (page 38). Certified Guiding Lion Completion Verification Form Complete this form and the test, meet with your district governor, District GLT Coordinator or MD GLT Coordinator to review your answers and discuss areas of further development. (page 39). Quarterly Report Submitted each January, April, July and October for two years to LCI and your district governor (page 41). Final Report Submitted at the end of your two year term to LCI and receive the Presidential Certified Guiding Lion Award (page 43).
