The 3-R Program Renew – Refresh – Revitalize
The goal of this program is to evaluate the health of our Clubs and to determine their progression. It will also allow us to see if we are in the position to bring changes in order to keep the interests of our Members and our Clubs. In other words: Where are we? What do we have to do? This program is not only for clubs at risk but for all Clubs to continuously assess themselves. This program is a great tool on your way to achieving Honor Club under the New ICD-135! Zone Meeting Regional Summits Establish direct and honest communication with our Members. Ask them why they have joined an Optimist Club or became a Member or why we do not see them at the Club? Establish friendly discussion with the Members in order to understand their expectations and needs. This must be done in person. s and Social Medias are excellent to pass information however, the human interaction is very important. Renewing your membership also means new ideas and additional assistance. The NOW Program is an excellent, easy and low cost way to make yourself known and is a requirement for the “Bringing Out the Best” Club and Honor Club Recognition Renew the leadership by helping your members to become future leaders. In all Clubs there are leadership opportunities but we might not see them. Sometimes, future leaders do no see themselves in that role. Identify these people and help them to develop their full potential. Invite them to the Leadership Summits, to District and Zone Meetings. Give them a chance and support them.

HOW TO RENEW: Teamwork OI Committee Members <-> District Chairs
Between District Chairs: New Club Building, Club Fitness Advisors, Membership, and Leadership There are a lot of people in your Club, Zone and District, and even at Optimist International, that can help with the renewal process. District Committee Chairs or People with Experience who you feel confident with; communicate; do not be afraid to tell the truth. Work to establish a long-term and sustainable solution, not just a short-term answer that is only good for the duration of your term.

WHAT IS "REFRESH"? Analyze New activities Point out the positive,
be optimistic Look for the things that can be improved New activities Clubs Communities Examine your situation; concentrate on the positive points and find ways to improve your Club. Do not spent your energy on negative things that have occurred in the past. It is time to look forward not backward. Are we meeting the expectations of our members or do we prefer the comfort of our regular activities? Do we really know what to do and how to meet our primary mission and how to engage our members? Are we open to change and to improve our activities?

HOW TO REFRESH: Develop an Action Plan District Zone Club
Sponsor a Club It is time to take action! Be ready and develop an action plan for your members. Be ready to ask for help from other clubs in the Zone or in the District. Another club may have a successful activity that may interest your members; ask them to help your club. If your club has a successful activity, share the details with other clubs.

WHAT IS "REVITALIZE"? Instill a feeling of belonging You ARE the Club!
Understanding the organization Objectives Goals Your clubs identity is derived from its members. What you do in your club is an integral part of its success. YOU ARE THE CLUB! You can make a difference! Remember why you became an Optimist Member and the benefits you have gained. Belonging to an Organization requires you to understand its goals and mission. You need to know how it was started and how it has evolved over time. Knowledge of the past will help you to understand the present and plan for the future.

HOW TO REVITALIZE: Participation
Personal Growth & Involvement Program (PGI) Professional Development Program (PDP) Mentoring & Encouragement The follow-up of our members is important. Do they know and understand our organization? Give them the opportunity to learn and develop their personal skills and abilities. Often, people feel inadequate to perform certain tasks or do not see themselves in a certain role. Let us help them on the road of discovery and encourage them to try something new. Do not hesitate to share your knowledge and experience. Being a mentor means being an advisor not a dictator. Remember, nobody will take your place. There is room for everyone and plenty of tasks and opportunities for all of us. Being a mentor can be a rewarding experience for both parties.
