“Great things in business are never done by one person, they are done by a team of people.” – Steve Jobs Process Engineering Department

2 What does your department do? What is your Unique Selling Point?
Typical activities include: Process Plant Design – both new plants or upgrades to existing facilities Consultancy (e.g. Concept Studies, Safety, Risk Analysis, Energy Reduction, Calculations) Troubleshooting on existing plants – e.g. issues with equipment performance, plant capacity Process modelling – using software e.g. Hysys Specification of process equipment, control requirements etc. Process Safety – Hazard Studies (Lead & Contributor); SIL Determination Often “book-end” projects: initial specification and design (beginning) commissioning (end)

3 What are you currently working on? Any project highlights?
Process control projects for GSK – we produce the DDS documents which are used for control system configuration and testing Several concept & front end design projects for AWE – this is a relatively new client however we are building a good relationship and hope to gain more work in the future Process design on multi-disciplinary projects for DSM being delivered from HO Approx. 12 people based on sites providing PE support – DSM, GSK Irvine/Montrose/Worthing

4 What are your future ambitions for your department
What are your future ambitions for your department? What is on the horizon? Delivery of multi-disciplinary projects from head office – we have done a few of these and would like to do more Continuing high value process consultancy With digitalisation on the rise, we see an opportunity for us in specifying the correct/optimum use of meaningful data to improve plant performance We have recently added a new software tool, Spike, which we hope will help with the specification of process control & automation requirements

5 How do you plan to embrace the new E, C & I theme?
Innovation is already key to what we do – coming up with sometimes novel solutions to customers’ problems We plan to run some in-house “training” delivered by our senior engineers, to share knowledge and experience within the department Work more/better with other departments – know who and when to ask for help

6 Any other information? Please browse our display which has:
examples of some of the typical deliverables we produce key industry clients we work for a demo of a Hysys model running on the other laptop introductions to some of the key members of the team
