3. In this lesson students are learning about:
functions of mobile phones
the features of mobile phones that enable them to carry out particular functions

4. At the end of this lesson students will be able to:
differentiate between mobile phones according to how well suited they are for particular activities

5. Functions and features of mobile phones
Task: working in groups, produce a list of mobile phone functions.
Class discussion: One group can present their list…. The rest of the class can now add some functions that may have been missed

6. Features
In pairs identify the feature(s) of mobile phones that support each of the functions in the class list.
E.g. Making Calls – Volume control, contact lists
Storing music – file type

7. Which phone is best for…?
Task: In groups look at the set of six technical specifications for mobile phones in Mobile Phone Specifications.doc. Complete the table in Phone Ranking Table.doc by sorting the phones according to how good they are for:
making calls
taking photographs
storing music tracks
listening to music
surfing the web
texting
