3 Overview Launched in January 2012, IM40 is a movement based on the evidence-based framework of the Provides the resources necessary for youth to reduce risk behaviors, and improve academic success. 4

IM40 Coordinating Council developed the process which gave the IM40 movement the areas to focus on in this slide. They did this by: a. Needs & Opportunity Assessment: Research relevant needs Interview thought leaders Conducted community conversations Results: Identified 8 Communities with highest need IM40 will pilot and focus on youth ages who live in 3 of Delaware’s highest-need communities . Identified Implementation partners 3 CMOs 1 SYEC afterschool middle schools grants in these areas: Mother African Union Church- 2 sites Evidence based programs Academic support during afterschool hours Gender specific summer programming Police Athletic League – 5 locations in NCC Parent engagement in afterschool and summer programs Promote homework assistance and fitness activities West End Neighborhood House (members of Healthy Kids Delaware) Using Evidence Based Programs to focus on violence and suicide prevention Providence Service Academy’s (Asset Champion) Youth Empowerment Program UD – 4-H – Kent and Sussex Tutoring Music and art enrichment Healthy living summer program DSU Summer Youth Academy - mentoring DEMCO – Dover Tutoring and homework help Sports and fitness enrichment YMCA – Walnut Y, Dover and Sussex Teen memberships Leadership camp Big Brothers, Big Sisters of DE Mentoring for at risk youth focusing on LGBTQ Courageous Hearts – Kent and Sussex Equine assistance program Build self – esteem Family engagement CFF in Kent and Sussex Life skills Cooking Computer Outdoor education Boys and Girls Clubs Youth leadership clubs Weekday drop in teen programs Friday night events 5

Each bar is out of Interpret is as if a group of 100 people were surveyed and all of them only had 0 – 10 assets, that group would be 44% likely to drink alcohol.
