Decided to seek funding from the IEEE Foundation
Chicago Section pledged $5000 from their Reserve
Region 4, Several Librarians, Dominican University and PLA wrote letters of support 5

6. Project Objectives
Support public libraries in the development of math and science collections for pre-university students.
Be a catalyst for educating students about how math and science are used for the benefit of humanity
Provide seed money for creation of library programs and projects that will make a lasting impression on a community
Demonstrate the skills required for a career in electrical engineering. 6

7. Library Grant Criteria
Public Libraries located within Region 4 Covers grades K to 12 Provide Science Kits for Circulation Plan for sustaining the project Maximum Grant per library = $2000 Agree to cooperate with IEEE on publicity Involvement of local IEEE members is a plus 7

June - IEEE Foundation and Life Member Board Approves $40,000 Grant Proposal
July - First Payment of $8000 Received from IEEE Foundation - Advisory Committee is Formed.
