Look at this Poem I the morning while I eat my oatmeal I can smell
the scent of toast coming from our toaster. This doesn’t sound very interesting, let’s use imagery to make it more appealing.

Let’s make it better! In the chilly morning
while I slowly eat my warm and gooey oatmeal I can smell the sweet scent of cinnamon raisin toast wafting from our tiny, metal toaster. This sounds much more interesting to the reader and helps to paint a picture of the scene

Let’s Try Another Example
I am mad. As I clenched my jaw, my face began to inflame and become a deep shade of blood red. Rather than telling the audience, the writer showed them how the character feels using imagery.
