Please keep in mind: Coordinator (Luisa Barton) works on a part-time basis only; office hours for Luisa are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays as posted Clinical Placement Coordinator (Daniella Martins) works on a part-time basis Faculty and Staff in this program do not work on weekends If you need to talk to us face-to-face, please make an appointment All calls and s by all office staff will be returned within business hours unless otherwise specified If you ask us a question that is already covered in this orientation, you will be re-directed to the NP Guide You must use your university account or your will not be returned! Courses: Pathophysiology: distance methods, no clinical. Seminar/chats every other Wednesday (Sept-April) Roles and Responsibilities: distance methods, no clinical. Seminar every other Wednesday (Sept-April). **May be offered in the summer to Certificate-only cohort, but please stay tuned. Therapeutics 1 & 2: 3 hrs on-site (Ryerson) seminar and 6 hours clinical per week or 78 hrs per semester; distance delivery methods (Held on Tuesdays 4-7; Wednesdays 9-12; Wednesdays 4-7pm) AHAD 1 & 2: 3 hrs (Ryerson) on-site seminar and 6 hours per week or 78 hours per semester; distance delivery methods (Held on Tuesdays 12-3 andWednesday 1-4) Integrative Practicum: a total of 455 hours (416 Clinical) with a seminar every other week over 13 week period (May-Aug)

Very Important: You are expected to travel to seminar and clinical placements; LOCATION (where you reside) is not a factor—NO EXCEPTIONS! November |

Very Important: As seminars are held at Ryerson, you must adhere to Ryerson alerts (i.e, closures, security, weather alerts, etc..) ALL RYERSON NP students MUST follow Ryerson policies and procedures (i.e, appeals, missed exams) in GRADUATE STUDIES; (see School of Graduate Studies website) Know the NP Network (directories, policies, announcements, etc…) Ryerson’s graduate calendar may conflict with NP Calendar with regards to Exam periods; You must follow NP exam dates November |

VARIATIONS TO THE RYERSON YSGS SIGNIFICANT CALENDAR DATES:
FOR THE PHCNP COURSES, THE EXAM PERIOD FALLS OUT OF STEP WITH THE YSGS EXAMINATION PERIOD. It is important that students review their courses’ syllabi, as well as the academic calendar posted on the NP Website. November |

Course sections Seminars for AHAD and Therapeutics will have sections as follows: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Course plan must be submitted to Gerry Warner No switching of class sections The NP Program reserves the right to not enroll a student in a section if the section is full and/or process for signing up was not followed by a student Sign up date is Tuesday, June 26 by 5pm via to Luisa Barton

Section Sign-Up (AHAD & Therapeutics only)
Sign up for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday sections will take place on June 26 via Luisa Barton only. No section switching is allowed once the student signs up. The NP Program reserves the right to cancel a section if enrollment is not filled. If a student fails to sign up for a section on June 26, either the student will be automatically assigned to a section or if the section is ‘full’ the student will not be enrolled in the respective NP course. Make sure there are no conflicts with your core courses when signing up for sections; this will be your responsibility. Please send Luisa Barton an on June 26 with your course(s) section choice. Luisa will not approve any course section request s prior to and dated after June 26 at 5pm. (Students can Luisa at 12:00:01 on June 26th and it will be accepted). AHAD1 is offered: Tuesdays at 12pm-3pm; Wednesday 1pm-4pm Thera1 is offered: Tuesdays at 4pm-7pm; Wednesday 9am-12pm; Wednesday 4-7pm If a student is unable to Luisa from their account on the 26th, please send Luisa an granting a family member or friend permission to send the on the student’s behalf on the 26th from their personal account. Sections are based on a number of factors, as determined by the program team and enrollment! Students may not get their choice of sections, this is a request process!

Communication: Any requests that follow under the university’s policies and procedures must be communicated via using your university account and at appropriate times/dates, otherwise, you will not get a response and it will not be considered ‘official’ November |

Get Ready Please complete course plans and demographics via central registry (CRDB) Please review this power point and the CLINICAL PLACEMENT power point and handbook on a regular basis (all available online) Start surfing the NP Network Please review all university Graduate Studies policies and procedures (available online) Submit your completed document package to Daniella (in person) for your clinical placements by Tuesday, August 7th All exam dates are posted in September; these dates are firm and cannot be changed (as per policy) and must be written ON-SITE
