Our Executive Department leads and directs the day to day activities of NMFA. They are great cheerleaders, offer guidance and ensure we are carrying out our mission to support military families and service members. Volunteers support our Executive department and all departments within NMFA by assisting with various events and serving on advisory committees offering their expertise and support. Our Executive Department also includes our Scholarship + Professional Support team and the Finance Department.

Scholarship + Professional Support Team are always expanding and growing our military spouse scholarship program. In 2017 the Joanne H. Patton Military Spouse Scholarship program will have two opportunities for military spouses to apply for funding – Oct 1st thru January 15th and May 1st thru June 30th. This helps meet the needs and educational goals of so many spouses! Military Spouses in the mental health profession can also join our Military Spouse Mental Health Professional Network to support them in their career goals. This initiative connects military spouse mental health professionals with resources to continue their education, connect with their peers and gain and understanding of licensure requirements. If you are interested, you can join their Facebook page! The Scholarship + Professional Support Team also administers the FINRA Military Spouse Financial Fellowship program to become an Accredited Financial Counselor. As a Volunteer you can support our Scholarship team by Volunteering to help us judge the many military spouse scholarship applications. We also need you to spread the word about these helpful programs to the military spouses within your networks. You can also support the FINRA Military Spouse Financial Fellowship program by volunteering to judge the applications for this program.

Our Government Relations Team bring the stories of military families to our elected officials and to high level meetings in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill. The only way Government Relations can do all of these things is because of you! Your monthly report allows Government Relations to be the voice for military families. Please keep the information coming! We need to hear about the successes and challenges in your community! Your monthly report matters and the information you share in s and during conference calls makes a difference!

Our Development and Membership Team are busy meeting with donors, planning events like the one pictured, our annual Leadership Luncheon, writing and researching grants, maintaining our donor database, and telling the story of how we make the most of every dollar while working for military families! They might be coming to a town near you! You can support our Development Team by being willing to accept a donation check at a local event. Ask that local clubs, such as spouses clubs donate to NMFA. Some Volunteers have also participated in fundraising efforts in their local communities. If you have questions or want to support the efforts of our Development Team, contact your VCO Manager.

Our Communications team is behind all of our social media, printed materials, graphics, web design and interaction with the media. They help us spread the word about the great work NMFA does and tell the stories of military families. Want to help them out? You can write a blog, engage with NMFA through social media, or be willing to speak with reporters if we contact you and share your perspective!

Our Youth Initiatives Department facilitates our Operation Purple Camps, Healing Adventures and Family Retreats! These programs help families and children gain communication skills, grow as families, and enjoy the outdoors! Volunteers support this department by conducting site review visits to Operation Purple Camps during the summer to ensure the OPC curriculum is in place and that campers are having a true OPC experience!
