Getting Rid of the Generator
Ever want to get rid of that generator? How did Summit start working on Generator Free Solutions? Right on Learning Mobile Pre-School The challenge was that there was no room for a generator
15
Getting Rid of the Generator Cont.
Summit has been installing Battery Power Systems, much like the RV industry since our inception. The challenge is developing a system that could run air conditioning, heat, lights, computers, projector, roof vents, PA system and everything it takes to run the pre-school. Also must handle Cold Winters and Hot Summers. Cannot take up space in the active pre-school area. Started with 9-12 volt Batteries

No Generator! The Folks who do it Better
19
How Does the System Charge?
20
Features and Benefits Lithium Ion Batteries give you Available Power Storage. Generation from the Alternator and the inverter provide the availability of power, making it feel like you are always connected to shore power. You can run: Air Conditioners Lights Wheel-Chair Lift Computers and Printers The entire function of the Bookmobile Without the noise and exhaust from a generator Less Maintenance than a generator Each System is customizable to the Electrical load that your vehicle will require

Cost $$$$ Weight Too Good to be True?
Initial Investment can be more than twice the cost of a generator It may be worth it! Weight 10kw diesel generator: 767lbs Equivalent Volta System: 983 lbs

Designing your Bookmobile: Questions you need to Answer
Are there parking limitations in the areas that you serve as well as where the Unit will be parked when not in use? What are the vehicle Service locations in your area? Do you want gas, diesel, or other? What Style do you like or need? Van, Truck, Commercial RV, Step Van… What types of Services do you want to provide?
24
Designing your Bookmobile: Questions you need to Answer
How many patrons would you like to accommodate at once? What is your desired collection size? Do you want book carts? Space for people to sit and read or programming area? Do you need work computer stations for Staff as well as patrons? Do you need outdoor programing and/or Capabilities? How long are you at each stop?

Heat and Air Conditioning Options
Engine driven heat: Available Option when you do not have a generator or other power source Downfall: Your Engine has to be running for this heat source to work Diesel Heater: Very efficient and great for colder climates Gas Heater: Great option when you have a gas chassis LP Heat: Great option if you are already using an LP Generator All of the fuel heaters are good option when you can use the same fuel source as the chassis and/or generator Electric Heat: Toe kick heaters are a good option in warmer climates where you don’t have to run your heat very often or for long lengths of time
26
Heat and Air Conditioning Cont.
Engine driven Air Conditioning: Only works when your engine is running Roof Top Air Conditioners: These are the most commonly used. Usually a Coleman or Dometic Brand. Must have adequately sized generator or power source, i.e. Volta Power System Can run off of your generator or Volt System when out on your route. Can run off of shore power when you are garaged or parked and preparing your collection for the next day Side Mounted Air Conditioners: Dometic Cool Cat is a good option when you have strict height requirements. Some customers choose the option of both the engine driven and electric air conditioners.
