Problems with Aggression, Compliance, and AWOL System Low to Middle SES Enmeshed relationship with parents 2 differing parenting styles No structured routine present Assessed primary issues that affect his environment, what others say about his behaviors, what are the parents willing to make changes and wanting to work on as well--COMPROMISE

Overview Service lasted 9 months
Service was provided out in the community including his home and school. Target behaviors Aggression Non-compliance AWOL Implemented tangible visual aids to assist in implementing a structured routine tailored to the individual

Behavior Goals Goals were personalized to increase individual interest and motivation.

To provide culturally competent resources to parents.

Reward Chart Resources are provided in formats that are visual in order to meet individual comprehension.

Coordination of Care All MH services were provided at HOPE
Counseling, Collateral (parent education), Psychiatry, and TBS Working with outside agencies to utilize strengths and build upon them by having a meeting every 4-6 weeks during the duration of TBS Able to pull skills from different settings to create a streamlined plan that worked for individual Educated parents on the size of the reward must match the size of the behavior. Small reward for small changes, BIG REWARD for BIG CHANGES.

Feelings Chart Resources are provided in a format that meets the individual need. Sometimes, depending on their disability, colors can be overstimulating.

Results Behaviors were decreased to: 0 incidents of aggression, increasing compliance in the home and school settings, and reducing AWOL to 0. Support system: Family, teacher’s aide, and extended family. Transition plan: continuing counseling and collateral support at HOPE. Starting an afterschool program and recreational activities. Graduation!!!!
