Evaporation Of Liquids
Jasmine Crum 1st period Physical science
2
Topic Question Do all liquids evaporate at the same time?
3
Hypothesis If each liquid had the same amount and were placed at the same temperature, then they should evaporate at the same time.
4
Materials Water Orange Juice Alcohol Nail Polish Remover
5
Experimental Procedure
Poured ½ cup into each cup Put each cup in a room temperature room Observed how much each liquid evaporated each day for 5 days
6
Variables Independent Variable: amount of poured into each cup
Dependent Variable: the liquids used
7
The Experiment
8
Data & Observations Day Water Orange Juice Nail Polish Remover Alcohol
1 ½ cup 2 1/3 cup 3 ¼ cup 4 1 tbs. 5

Conclusion My hypothesis was not supported because all of the liquids did not evaporate at the same rate. Over the course of 5 days, nail polish remover evaporated the fastest, alcohol next, water, and then orange juice. All the liquid started with ½ cup, by the 5th day water evaporated down to 1/3 cup, alcohol went to ¼ cup, orange juice didn’t evaporate at all, and nail polish remover evaporated to 1 tbs.
