If an organism reproduces its genes live on. If it fails to reproduce, its genes die with it.

3 In Sexual Reproduction
There are sex organs. Specific body parts that aid in reproduction.

4 Human Reproduction Follow the same rules.
In human reproduction, there are two different sexes Male Female

Purpose: To produce sperm and deliver it to the female

7 The Parts Penis External sexual organ
The job of the penis is to get the sperm inside the female

8 The Parts Testes Primary job is to produce sperm.
Secondary job is to produce the male hormone testosterone. Mature sperm is stored in the Epididymis

10 What are some ways to take care of yourself to avoid problems?

Purpose: Produces eggs Ensures development of fertilized eggs Gives birth

The Parts Ovary Fallopian Tube Uterus Vagina

13 The Parts Ovary The ovary is where the eggs are at
Job is to hold onto and release eggs Estrogen production

14 The Parts Fallopian Tubes
Responsible for connecting the ovaries to the uterus. This is where fertilization occurs

15 The Parts Uterus Organ where fetus grows and develops

16 The Parts Vagina Serves as a passageway for the penis
Serves as a passageway for the baby

19 Fertilization Sperm fertilizes the egg creating a ZYGOTE.
Zygote travels down fallopian tubes/ attaches to the thick wall of the uterus and begins to grow. ( embryo) The developing fetus lives off the mother’s food and oxygen for the next 40 weeks.
