2 Introduction to Abortion
Abortion is the induced termination of a pregnancy with destruction of the embryo or fetus. Abortion is a huge controversial topic because it deals with the basis of different beliefs and religions. Abortion has polarized mainstream political parties. Our topic deals with multiple aspects of abortion and how different kinds of people view it.

3 Abortion History Before 1973, abortion was illegal in 30 states and legal under certain circumstances in 20 states. In 1973, in Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decided that abortion should be legal in all 50 states and it has stayed that way ever since. Some issues regarding abortion that have plagued the U.S. for decades include: morality, religion, legality, circumstances, and length of pregnancy.

20 Survey Results We predicted 17/27 completely correct and 22/27 mostly correct. Most of our faults occurred within Subgroup #3.

21 Conclusion We learned that depending on one’s religious beliefs and age their responses to abortion greatly vary. Young people tend to be more accepting on the issue, while older people are more hesitant to fully agree with an abortion. Younger people are more in favor in state power and older people are more in favor of federal government power. (Proven by Question #8) But regardless of one’s religious affiliation or age, people tend to base their opinions on certain circumstances. This relates to Chapter 7 because it deals with the differences of public opinion because of both the gender gap, age differences, and religion.
